Air Force v. California

At this point it’s a no brainer for what type of game we will see. The Falcons of Air Force will utilize their revamped offense and continue to blossom under the coaching of their first year coach Troy Calhoun. The Bears however, are in a different spot. No one can tell if they want to play football anymore. Motivation n has been a problem recently, as shown by losing 6 of the last 7. California will have to try to play a coverage defense, something they haven’t done all year. The Air Force offense will be too good for the bears.

Fresno State v. Georgia TechThe Yellow Jackets look for a different outcome to a game they have been to before. GT meets Fresno State today for the second time in a bowl setting. The Jackets look to Jon Tenuta, their interim coach for some answers. As a defensive coordinator-turned-coach he should look to use the blitz and run defense that Georgia Tech thrives on.

No. 21 South Florida at Oregon

I am very excited about this game. Despite their set backs and their rank, South Florida is one of the greatest football schools in the country. The Bulls came from nowhere and climbed to number two in the nation before falling in three straight games. The y recovered however and finished this season with three straight W’s. Oregon is coming off a horrible injury in which Dennis Dixon tore some knees ligaments, and lost their last three.

Florida State v. KentuckyFlorida State has been a let down this year. FSU’s defense deserves a much better team rank and a better bowl game. Since you can’t play football with just defense the offensive line has to do something; like the defense we are all still waiting to see what the offense can do to help. Kentucky has a great offense with a first round pick in quarterback Andre Woodson. This is Kentucky’s second dance in Nashville, so lets hope they like the square dance and can call Nashville home.

Oklahoma State v. Indiana

Riding on the sensational shoulders of QB Kellen Lewis and his partner in crime, WR James Hardy, Indiana has return to the bowl scene after a 14 year drought. This awesome combination should feed off of that excitement and put on a wonderful show. Oklahoma State has put up 39 point or more in all of their victories this year. This is what they needed since the defense gives up 35 or more in losses. This just might one of the highest scoring games in bowl season, when you combine the two offenses.

No. 15 Clemson at No. 23 AuburnI don’t mean to say that Auburn does not deserve the chance to upset Clemson, however why don’t we have a match-up between the 15th team and the nation and the 16th team in the nation. The games would mean more, be more exciting, and would help the BCS, if the match-ups were even and not made to be lop sided. I mean we get to see 1 and 2, why not 15 and 16? Despite my disappointment in match-ups, I like this game. The defense of Auburn gives up only 16 points per game, and returns to Atlanta with the 1998 Peach Bowl on its mind.
