Here is a quick look at my predictions for the Midwest Region:
The First match-up for the Midwest is Kansas V. Portland State. This is an easy call. Kansas Wins. From there we go to Kent St V. UNLV. UNLV has the higher seed but is likely to loose to the streaking Golden Flashes. Kent State won both the regular season and the MAC tournament titles. Another hot team is Clemson. Villanova has struggled lately against NCAA Tourney bound teams and the Clemson Tigers are on a roll. Losing four of their last six games Kansas St looks to loose another at the hands of the USC Trojans. CS Fullerton is on a tear but the Wisconsin Badgers won their conference season and tournament. Davidson is the only team besides Memphis to go undefeated in conference play and in their tournament, Gonzaga is on upset alert. UMBC doesnt stand a chance against Georgetown.
Second Round: Kansas over Kent St to move to the third round. Clemson over Vandy, Wisconsin over USC and Goergetown over Davidson.
Third Round: USPET ALERT: Clemson is coming off an incredible run and will likely continue its drive in the tournament. After ousting Virginia Tech to close the regular season, then Tigers went on to crush Boston College in the ACC tournament and then eliminate Duke. The tigers also nearly took UNC to overtime for what would have been a third time this season. Clemson beats Kansas. The Badgers wont stand a chance versus Georgetown. Wisconsin played in one of the weakest leagues in the NCAA this year and wont be prepared to play the most under-rated two seed in the tournament.
Elite Eight Match-up: The Clemson tigers have had an amazing last few weeks but they will wear down against Goergetown. Beating Duke in the ACC and then clawing through Vanderbilt and Kansas will leave Georgetown an easier game than most people expect in a matchup for a final four spot.
