Nationals Add Pitching

This is the year; the year the Nationals are no longer last. The year when we see a good team start to form. I have had the pleasure of knowing Ryan Zimmerman for a few years now, and occasionally I get some info that others don’t. When Zim signed his contract he was promised two things: A new stadium and a team two back him up in the next 3 years.

Here it is! The number one prospect in baseball signed last season with the Nats, and now they have signed Jason Marquis to a two year, fifteen million dollar deal. We saw the bats come together at the end of the season, and now we are seeing the pitching come into its own.

I don’t expect huge things right away, but the Nationals should be able to put themselves in a position to fight for the playoffs. Now that the field is paid for the team can afford to bring in good players. The race for the wild card should be good enough for the Nats after the dismal record they currently have. I see them falling just short, but with Pudge, Zim, Marquis, Strasburg, Dunn, Guzman, Dukes, and Morgan who knows. They will certainly make a good ran at it.
